The Bren Project are working together with Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust (CaWCT) on the Working Carers service but, where CaWCT focus on supporting working Carers with issues relating to either employment or their caring role, The Bren Project are working with local employers to raise awareness of Carers in their workforce, to encourage them to become Carer friendly, and to support and train those employers so that they can work towards a “Carer Friendly” accreditation. This will involve;
- Raising awareness of working carers (those carers that juggle paid employment with their caring role at home)
- Offering advice for employers on how to support carers in their workforce
- Offering free membership to SMEs for ‘Employers for Carers’ (national organisation that supports employers)
